April 13 – June 8 (cancelled 5/25, Memorial Day)r

Join our community partner, Healthy Acadia, for a tai chi series designed to empower people to improve their health and well-being through slow, smooth, continuous mind-body exercises. This program is recognized by the CDC as a high-tier, evidence-based program for improving balance, strength, flexibility, and confidence. While especially effective for arthritis, this program is appropriate for anyone who wants to improve their health and wellness. Tai Chi practice can help:

  • Alleviate Pain
  • Reduce stress
  • Increase strength, flexibility, and balance
  • Improve cognitive function and coordination

Lisa Schaefer, course instructor, is a retired Pharmacist who lives in Jonesboro with her family.  She enjoys practicing tai chi, yoga, knitting, quilting, and exploring Downeast Maine. Lisa appreciates how the practice of Tai Chi improves balance, mindfulness, and self-confidence.  She is committed to life-long learning and to improving health through mindful movement.

Pre-registration is required. Once your registration is complete, you will receive the confirmation via the email address you provided. While all classes are free, donations are suggested. Contact Nina Zeldin at (207)664-1630 for more information.
