Creating a community that is welcoming to all

“I long, as does every human being, to be at home wherever I find myself.” ~ Maya Angelou

WHRL believes that all people should live in a safe, supportive, and welcoming community that enhances their health and well-being. We are committed to listening to our community members, to building relationships, and to collaborating with neighbors and partners across our community to address these four areas of focus:

  1. creating greater food security and improving nutrition
  2. providing more opportunities for physical activity
  3. building community connections
  4. affording access to nature
  5. wellness education

We are committed to learning about what resources and conditions make this access possible for everyone in the community. There is work to be done, but together, we continue to build a culture that supports and celebrates all of us.

Imagine the community you want.
Together, we can create it.
