Creating a Living Shoreline at Milbridge Commons Wellness Park

April 25 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Free
milbridge commons

Do you have an eroding shoreline? Are you interested in learning how live stakes can help stabilize and restore your shoreline? Live stakes are cuttings from native shrubs or trees, such as willow or elderberry, that are planted directly into the soil along streambanks or shorelines. As they grow, their roots hold soil in place, reduce erosion, and provide important habitat for wildlife.

Join us with Maine Coast Heritage Trust at Milbridge Commons Wellness Park for a demonstration session on April 25th, 2026, from 1–3 pm, where you can see live staking in action and ask questions about the best species and planting techniques for your property. Questions? Contact David Holmberg at dholmberg@mcht.org or 513-292-3549.

This program is free, but registration is required!
