The Women’s Health Resource Library has been awarded a $25,000 QUIMBY FAMILY FOUNDATION nourishment grant for Incredible Edible Milbridge. The award states, “The Women’s Health Resource Library was elected to receive funding because of our shared vision to grow the local food system in a way that supports human and environmental health. We are inspired by your approach to human wholeness and your efforts to foster stronger relationships between people and the farmers, woods, and waters of Maine.”
WHRL Executive Director Chris Kuhni commented, “We are honored and humbled with this award, which allows us to continue and expand Incredible Edible Milbridge. Our work is very collaborative and we are fortunate to count the Quimby family among our partners. They are also kindred spirits, sharing a philosophy of human wholeness that addresses the critical fundamental needs of people everywhere. We appreciate their efforts to maintain personal relationships with grantees. Their commitment and dedication inspires us to continue this important work as we strive to create a culture of wellness in Downeast Maine. The Quimby Family provides funding for many worthy projects and regularly offers educational opportunities designed to strengthen non-profits organizations throughout the state. Maine is better, healthier because of the Quimby Family Foundation. We are forever grateful for their support and trust.”
