Donate
Imagine the community you want. Together, we can create it.We have a matching grant – all gifts made by December 31st will be matched up to $40,000!
While the needs of our Downeast community are great, WHRL is a strong, financially stable organization, NOT dependent on federal or state funding. The majority of our donations come from caring individuals like you, who want to see our community thrive.
Help us feed our community. Incredible Edible Milbridge grew enough veggies for over 31,000 meals this growing season, but we anticipate the need will be even greater next year.
Do you LOVE Milbridge Commons? Help us keep this magical place uncommonly special.
Are you a fan of OWL (Outdoor Women Lead)? Help sustain this amazing program by donating now.

Bequests–Including WHRL in your Will or Trust
A bequest may be made in several ways:
- Gift of a Percentage of Your Estate: You can choose to leave a specific percentage of your estate to a beneficiary.
- Gift of a Specific Dollar Amount or Asset: You may designate a fixed amount of money or a specific asset as a gift.
- Gift from the Balance or Residue of Your Estate**: This involves leaving what remains of your estate after other bequests have been made.
- Gift from a Retirement Asset, Such as an IRA: If you pass on your IRA to family members, much of its value may be reduced by estate and income taxes. However, if you designate Women for Healthy Rural Living as the beneficiary of all or part of your IRA (using the beneficiary designation form provided by your custodian), the full value of the gift can be transferred tax-free upon your death. Additionally, your estate will receive an estate tax charitable deduction.
