If you’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting Caitlin, you know there’s something about her calm energy and empowering presence that can make you feel at ease. From her background in yoga to her commitment to healing others, Caitlin’s path is one of growth, connection, and service. Her story is a powerful reminder of how yoga can become not just a physical practice but a transformative journey for the mind and heart.
From College to Yoga Teacher: A Journey of Discovery
Caitlin’s journey into yoga began in college, where she first tried a 30-day program. She was hooked immediately, attending classes every day and quickly discovering the physical, mental, and emotional benefits that yoga had to offer. “I felt so good during and after those 30 days,” Caitlin recalls. “It wasn’t just the physical exercise; it was something deeper, a sense of calm, centeredness, and empowerment.”
What started as a fitness-focused practice quickly evolved. Caitlin began noticing how yoga could help process life’s challenges. “It helped me work out things in my life. It became a mental and emotional practice that taught me about myself,” she explains. Yoga opened a window into her thoughts, habits, and the stories we often tell ourselves. It became a tool for self-awareness, helping Caitlin to understand herself in ways she hadn’t before.
The Path to Becoming a Yoga Therapist
Caitlin’s passion for yoga deepened, leading her to pursue further training. Becoming a Yoga Therapist was no easy feat—it involved 800 hours of study over three years. Yet, it was clear to her that yoga could benefit anyone, regardless of age, ability, or background. Caitlin believes that yoga is for everyone, and each person can tailor their practice to meet their own needs. Whether you’re at home or in a class, yoga offers the flexibility to adapt and grow.
One of Caitlin’s core beliefs is that yoga teachers should empower their students to walk on their own. “It’s important that we don’t just teach poses but give people the tools to understand what works for them, to discover how to nurture their own practice,” she says.
A Love for Service: From the World Wildlife Fund to Teaching Yoga
Before fully committing to yoga, Caitlin worked at the World Wildlife Fund, a job she loved but felt something was missing. While the work was fulfilling, Caitlin knew her heart was pulling her in a different direction—towards teaching yoga and helping others find healing.
After completing her yoga teacher training, Caitlin began traveling. She visited Europe and South America, sharing her practice with others as she went along. This experience helped her realize the universal nature of yoga and how it transcends cultural boundaries.
Creating Accessible Yoga: From Chair Yoga to a Thriving Program
Upon returning to New York in 2017, Caitlin began teaching yoga to older adults, something deeply personal to her. “I grew up with grandparents, and I missed that generation,” she says. Recognizing a need for accessible yoga, Caitlin started creating a chair yoga program, allowing older adults to experience the physical and mental benefits of yoga in a safe and comfortable way. This program was a hit, and it grew from there.
In 2021, Caitlin moved to Boston and began teaching full-time. She launched Caitlin Yoga Therapy, which now boasts seven teachers who help share her vision of accessible and empowering yoga.
A New Chapter in Addison: Life with Her Fiancé
In a new chapter of her life, Caitlin relocated to Addison with her boyfriend, now fiancé. Tired of city life, Caitlin found herself drawn to the peaceful surroundings of Addison, a place they had visited often. “His father had a place in Addison, and when we visited, we felt welcomed by the community,” Caitlin shares. “It just felt like home, and we decided to stay.”
Her fiancé, an artist, shares Caitlin’s creative spirit. Together, they’ve embraced a slower, more peaceful way of life. Addison is where Caitlin is now building her community and sharing her passion for yoga with a new group of people.
My Yoga RX: A Choose-Your-Own-Adventure Approach to Wellness
As Caitlin continues to grow her business and develop new programs, one of her latest projects, My Yoga RX, is particularly exciting. This program is designed to offer a “choose your own adventure” approach, allowing individuals to select yoga practices that align with how they feel or what they need at the moment. Whether someone is seeking mental clarity, emotional healing, or physical release, My Yoga RX guides them toward the right tools.
Caitlin’s vision for My Yoga RX is to create an online community where students can take live classes and access recordings based on the yoga they need that day. She will offer 1:1 work as well. Her goal is to create a deep sense of connection, especially for women. “I want to create a space where women can feel comfortable, learn from one another, and embrace the wisdom that comes with aging,” Caitlin says. Through yoga, she helps women physically, emotionally, and spiritually embrace their full selves.
A Community of Women Supporting Women
What makes Caitlin’s work so powerful is her focus on community. Her passion for holding space for women as they grow and evolve is evident in everything she does. She believes in the power of connection, not just with our bodies but with each other. “Yoga isn’t just about the physical practice. It’s about learning from others, sharing stories, and supporting each other through life’s challenges,” Caitlin shares.
Whether you are new to yoga or have been practicing for years, Caitlin’s work offers a welcoming and nurturing space for everyone. Her teachings and programs encourage individuals to listen to their bodies, trust themselves, and find their own path to healing.
In a world where we can often feel disconnected, Caitlin’s work reminds us that we all have the power to heal, grow, and find balance—through yoga, community, and self-awareness. If you haven’t met Caitlin yet, it’s time to see how her practice can guide you toward a more empowered, centered, and mindful way of living.
