Gingerbread Contest

Do you make a mean gingerbread? How about a beautiful gingerbread house? We know that there are some people in the Milbridge area who must be amazing at this — which is lucky, because the Flour Girls Bakery is hosting a gingerbread house contest during Christmas on Main St! And we are delighted that all the proceeds of this contest will go to WHRL programs!

The Flour Girls Bakery is a great little spot to grab a sandwich or whoopie pie. This bakery is owned by Kayla Geel and Jenay Wrenwick, and is located on 8 Cottage Street in downtown Milbridge. If you haven’t gone yet, you definitely should! Their baked goods are homemade from scratch, and they offer coffee, paninis, and custom orders for your big events! We are so excited they have started this bakery and are delighted they are supporting WHRL and our programs through this gingerbread contest. The houses will be auctioned off during our Christmas Tree Festival at the Schooner Gallery (Dec. 6th and 7th).

The photo above states: “Contestants will pick up registration forms at Flour Girls Bakery Nov. 11 – 20 and return them by the 22nd. You will drop off your gingerbread houses to the Schooner Gallery on Friday, Dec. 6th between 8 am and 1 pm. Contestants must be willing to donate their houses to WHRL after judging. They will be auctioned off and the proceeds will benefit the programs of the WHRL. Winner will receive a variety pack of Flour Girls Whoopies.” Follow their facebook page to find out about the contest rules.

Thanks to all who partake in this contest! It will be fun. Stay tuned for more information about our Christmas Tree Festival.
