View of Narraguagas Bay from the stone bench

There are a lot of events happening this Saturday at the Milbridge Commons Wellness Park, and we are excited for them all! The following is schedule of events:

From 9 – noon, there will be the FIRST EVER garden work party. This will be a great opportunity to get acquainted with what we’re doing at Milbridge Commons! Come see what we’ve planted, help us edge the garden, clean up our compost pile, and more! Afterwards there will be live music from members of the Cole Creek Band, along with a potluck! If you’re interested in bringing food, please contact Pammy at pam@whrl.org.

At 10:00am, join Incredible Edible’s Zabet NeuCollins next to the children’s garden for the first Seeding Reading Story Hour. The Seeding Reading Story Hour will happen every Saturday (except Milbridge Days) through August 10th. A volunteer or Incredible Edible worker will read a children’s story and follow it with a garden-related activity! This Saturday we’ll be reading “Muncha! Muncha! Muncha!” by Candace Fleming and then painting with carrots. Children of all ages invited!

At 11:00am, there will be a dedication of a beautiful stone bench made by Jesse Salisbury to Bill Arnold, a integral and passionate charter member of Incredible Edible Milbridge. Please join us in honoring his memory. Click here to learn more about Bill.

A film crew from Maine Coast Heritage Trust will be there: let’s show them how much community means to us! Join us Saturday, June 6th, 9 – noon.
