SUMMARY:Chair Yoga Summer Session - Wednesday Afternoons Begins
DESCRIPTION:When: Wednesdays\, beginning June 10 (5 sessions)Time: 4-5 pmCost: $10 per session ($50 paid in advance) \nChair yoga allows us to enjoy the benefits of yoga while sitting securely in a firm chair.  We still have to do the work\, but we are seated in a chair or standing next to it\, using our hand for support.  This makes the practice available to those of us who can’t easily get up and down from the floor\,  have had knee or hip replacements\,  suffer from dizziness\, and struggle with balance — lots of us! \nWith practice\, our bodies become stronger and more flexible. Our breathing slows and deepens\, our postural alignment improves\, and we begin to cultivate an inner field of quiet and self-compassion. These benefits bring vitality to our systems and a feeling of being at home in our bodies. \nChairs are provided. Please wear comfortable\, layered clothing for both warm and cool conditions. Elastic waistbands are essential to prevent breath obstruction. Sneakers are good\, and shoes may stay on during practice. If you have yoga blocks\, please bring them.  No mat is needed. \nGeri Valentine is the instructor for this series. She is certified in both Yin and Kripalu Yoga\, forms of Hatha Yoga. She has offered Yoga through WHRL for 18 years. This Chair Yoga session is a modified version of Hatha. \nFor questions\, contact Geri Valentine at 207-598-5355. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n	\n\n \n \n 2026 Summer Session Chair Yoga - Wednesday Afternoons\n \n FacebookThis field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.Chair Yoga - Summer Session - Wednesday AfternoonsThis session is full. SUMMARY:The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society
DESCRIPTION:The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Annie Barrows and Mary Ann ShafferLeader: Pat OlsenWednesdays\, 6-7:30 – (9/2\, 9/9\, 9/16)Tuesdays\, 3:00-4:30 – (9/1\, 9/8\, 9/15) \n“I wonder how the book got to Guernsey? Perhaps there is some sort of secret homing instinct in books that brings them to their perfect readers.” January 1946: London is emerging from the shadow of the Second World War\, and writer Juliet Ashton is looking for her next book subject. Who could imagine that she would find it in a letter from a man she’s never met\, a native of the island of Guernsey\, who has come across her name written inside a book by Charles Lamb. . . . \nAs Juliet and her new correspondent exchange letters\, Juliet is drawn into the world of this man and his friends—and what a wonderfully eccentric world it is. The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society—born as a spur-of-the-moment alibi when its members were discovered breaking curfew by the Germans occupying their island—boasts a charming\, funny\, deeply human cast of characters\, from pig farmers to phrenologists\, literature lovers all. \nJuliet begins a remarkable correspondence with the society’s members\, learning about their island\, their taste in books\, and the impact the recent German occupation has had on their lives. Captivated by their stories\, she sets sail for Guernsey\, and what she finds will change her forever. \nWritten with warmth and humor as a series of letters\, this novel is a celebration of the written word in all its guises and of finding connection in the most surprising ways. \nRegistration opens August 1st.  \n \n \n \n \n \n Book Groups are open to anyone age 18 or older for whom "woman" is a meaningful identifier or lived experience. \nOur book discussion group meets for three sessions. Please register only if you can commit to attending all sessions.

SUMMARY:Estate Planning 101 with Rebecca Sargent
DESCRIPTION:This program is a two-part series occurring on October 8th and 15th. \nWhat is estate planning\, and why is it important? It’s not about expecting the worst\, but about putting thoughtful plans in place so your wishes are respected. Estate planning covers both “where will my assets go when I’m gone” and “who will help me if I am incapacitated.” Join Rebecca Sargent of Jones\, Kuriloff & Sargent\, LLC\, for a two-night presentation covering the basic legal documents every adult should have in place.   Some documents or tasks are things you can do yourself; others should be done formally.  We will talk about common scenarios: blended families\, land-rich and cash-poor\, the effect of how you title accounts or real estate\, and loved ones with special needs.\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n More about the facilitator: \nPrior to establishing her own law practice in estate planning\, probate\, trust administration\, corporate matters\, and real estate\, Rebecca Sargent was Senior Vice President & Senior Trust Officer at Union Trust Company (now Camden National Bank) from 1994 to 2008. Before that\, she practiced law at Loughlin & Wade in Portsmouth\, NH. She merged her business with the practices of Jeffrey Jones and Roberta Kuriloff in 2013\, thus forming Jones\, Kuriloff & Sargent\, LLC. \nRebecca believes in giving back to her community\, so she regularly volunteers her time and was named the Ellsworth Chamber’s Citizen of the Year in 2024.  Recent non-profit involvement includes: Member EBDC Board (Ellsworth Business Development Corporation); Member Frenchman Bay Conservancy Board; Member HCTC Study Committee; Trustee\, Lawyer’s Fund for Client Protection; Northern Light Maine Coast Memorial Hospital Capital Campaign Committee; Member Steering Committee\, Ellsworth Rotary Auction; Member\, Downeast Family YMCA Board; Member\, Ellsworth Chamber of Commerce Board.  In addition\, Rebecca has been an instructor in various estate planning and investment topics for local organizations. \nAn Ellsworth native\, Rebecca’s passions include travel and golf. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n	\n \n \n Estate Planning 101 with Rebecca Sargent\n \n CompanyThis field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.Estate Planning 101 with Rebecca Sargent10 seats available.\n \n \n Price:\n \n \n \n Waitlist(Required)\n \n I wish to be signed up for the waitlist.\n Your InformationName(Required)Space is limited - register ONLY one person at a time. \n \n \n \n First\n \n \n \n \n Last\n \n \n Email(Required)\n \n Phone(Required)Mailing Address(Required) \n \n \n \n Street Address\n \n \n City\n \n AlabamaAlaskaAmerican SamoaArizonaArkansasCaliforniaColoradoConnecticutDelawareDistrict of ColumbiaFloridaGeorgiaGuamHawaiiIdahoIllinoisIndianaIowaKansasKentuckyLouisianaMaineMarylandMassachusettsMichiganMinnesotaMississippiMissouriMontanaNebraskaNevadaNew HampshireNew JerseyNew MexicoNew YorkNorth CarolinaNorth DakotaNorthern Mariana IslandsOhioOklahomaOregonPennsylvaniaPuerto RicoRhode IslandSouth CarolinaSouth DakotaTennesseeTexasUtahU.S. Virgin IslandsVermontVirginiaWashingtonWest VirginiaWisconsinWyomingArmed Forces AmericasArmed Forces EuropeArmed Forces Pacific\n State\n \n \n ZIP Code\n \n \n Is there anything else we should know? SUMMARY:Tell Me Everything
DESCRIPTION:Tell Me Everything by Elizabeth StroutLeader: Alison BeedyEvenings: Wednesdays\, 6-7:30 – (10/14\, 10/21\, 10/28)Afternoons: Tuesdays\, 3:00-4:30 – (10/13\, 10/20\, 10/27) \nIt’s autumn in Maine\, and the town lawyer Bob Burgess has become enmeshed in an unfolding murder investigation\, defending a lonely\, isolated man accused of killing his mother. He has also fallen into a deep and abiding friendship with the acclaimed writer\, Lucy Barton\, who lives nearby in a house next to the sea. Together\, Lucy and Bob talk about their lives\, their hopes and regrets\, and what might have been. \nLucy\, meanwhile\, befriends one of Crosby’s longest inhabitants\, Olive Kitteridge\, now living in a retirement community on the edge of town. They spend afternoons together in Olive’s apartment\, telling each other stories. Stories about people they have known – “unrecorded lives\,” Olive calls them – reanimating them\, and\, in the process\, imbuing their lives with meaning. \nBrimming with empathy and pathos\, Tell Me Everything is Elizabeth Strout operating at the height of her powers\, illuminating the ways in which our relationships keep us afloat. As Lucy says\, “Love comes in so many different forms\, but it is always love.” \nRegistration opens September 1st. \n \n \n \n \n \n Book Groups are open to anyone age 18 or older for whom "woman" is a meaningful identifier or lived experience. \nOur book discussion group meets for three sessions. Please register only if you can commit to attending all sessions.

SUMMARY:Holiday Quilling
DESCRIPTION:If you’ve ever wanted to try quilling—or build on skills you already have—now is the perfect time! Add a personal touch to your holidays by creating something beautiful through the art of quilling. Also known as paper filigree\, quilling is a decorative art form dating back to the Renaissance that involves rolling\, shaping\, and gluing thin strips of paper to create intricate designs and patterns. \nJoin Holiday Quilling with Kelly on Saturday\, November 7th\, from 2 – 4:30 pm for a fun and creative workshop with a holiday focus. Participants can make a snowflake ornament\, create a gift tag\, or design a one-of-a-kind holiday card. Projects can be as simple or as detailed as you’d like\, and starting with a smaller project offers an easy\, approachable way to learn. All materials will be provided. \nThis workshop is open not only to women\, but to everyone in the community—ages 14 and up (a guardian is required if the participant is under the age of 16).
