SUMMARY:Long Pond Paddle
DESCRIPTION:This mellow paddling outing\, departing from the Black Woods Road just west of Cherryfield\, offers the opportunity to develop canoeing skills and observe the unique insects and plants that call this spring-fed pond home in late spring. This is a flatwater paddling experience where we can choose how far we want to paddle and tack on an optional short walk from a beach to another pond if we choose. In OWL outings\, frequent stops are built into the program to discuss elements of the natural world that we learn about on the way. The pace is always determined by the needs and desires of the group\, with a primary goal of going slow to enhance our connection with nature and each other. \nCanoes\, paddles\, and life jackets available to the first 6 people who need them; otherwise\, BYO boat! In addition to canoes and kayaks\, we welcome paddleboards on this outing\, though note that they tend to go much slower than canoes and kayaks. Helpers are available to assist with unloading/loading your gear at the boat launch; you will not have to unload by yourself. \nOWL Outings are led by Registered Maine Guides at Maine Outdoor School who all hold a minimum of a Wilderness First Aid certification. To learn more about MOS’s guides\, visit https://www.maineoutdoorschool.org/staff. \nSpace is limited\, and registration is required. Registration opens on May 18. \n \n Click here to Register

SUMMARY:2nd Annual Bloom for Butterflies Milkweed Sale
DESCRIPTION:We are excited to announce our 2nd Annual Bloom for Butterflies Milkweed Plant Fundraiser Sale. This initiative aims to promote the planting of milkweed\, a vital host plant for monarch butterflies\, and to raise funds to support the maintenance of the Ed Flanagan Pollinator Garden at Milbridge Commons Wellness Park. \nMilkweed is essential to monarch survival\, whose populations have declined dramatically in recent years. By planting milkweed\, we not only provide a safe habitat for these beautiful butterflies but also support the overall health of our local ecosystems. \nThe Bloom for Butterflies Milkweed Plant Fundraiser Sale features swamp milkweed\, a plant that forms 3-5 foot tall clumps\, and doesn’t spread aggressively like other milkweed species. It’s a perennial that thrives in wet environments but can also grow in regular gardens. \nOur 3-quart pots will contain two Milkweed seedlings ready for planting. \nSupplies are limited (and we sold out last year)! Order now for pickup beginning June 18. Plants are a $12 donation. \nJoin us in making a difference for our environment! Together\, we can create a brighter future for monarch butterflies and our local ecosystems. \n  \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n	\n\n \n\n \n Bloom for Butterflies: Milkweed Plant Fundraiser\n \n Swamp Milkweed Plant Quantity\n \n \n Price:\n $12.00\n \n \n Quantity \n Name(Required)\n \n \n \n First\n \n \n \n \n Last\n \n \n Phone Number(Required)Email(Required)\n \n Mailing Address \n \n \n \n Street Address\n \n \n City\n \n AlabamaAlaskaAmerican SamoaArizonaArkansasCaliforniaColoradoConnecticutDelawareDistrict of ColumbiaFloridaGeorgiaGuamHawaiiIdahoIllinoisIndianaIowaKansasKentuckyLouisianaMaineMarylandMassachusettsMichiganMinnesotaMississippiMissouriMontanaNebraskaNevadaNew HampshireNew JerseyNew MexicoNew YorkNorth CarolinaNorth DakotaNorthern Mariana IslandsOhioOklahomaOregonPennsylvaniaPuerto RicoRhode IslandSouth CarolinaSouth DakotaTennesseeTexasUtahU.S. Virgin IslandsVermontVirginiaWashingtonWest VirginiaWisconsinWyomingArmed Forces AmericasArmed Forces EuropeArmed Forces Pacific\n State\n \n \n ZIP Code\n \n \n Total\n \n Credit Card\n \n Cardholder Name\n \n \n Card Details\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Milkweed is the only plant on which Monarch butterflies will lay their eggs\, and it is the only food their caterpillars eat.
