Winter Sowing is a popular method of germinating vegetable and flower seeds. Winter Sowing saves money\, uses recycled materials\, and is a fun winter pastime. I’ve had great success\, Winter Sowing many annuals and perennials\, and the result has been some of the strongest and hardiest seedlings I’ve ever grown. During the workshop\, you will learn step by step how to create your very own Winter garden. You will take home mini greenhouses made from gallon milk jugs\, which can then remain outside until their perfect germination conditions arrive. It’s amazing! Jacquie Leighton lives in Milbridge in an old farmhouse at the head of Pigeon Hill Bay. For nearly all her life\, she has had her hands in soil. Her earliest memories are of her mother’s marigold gardens\, and they are still her favorite\, winter-sown (deer-resistant).
