SUMMARY:Bear's Den Garden Tour
DESCRIPTION:Geri Valentine and Donna Kausen are self-reliant homestead gardeners who have been growing vegetables organically for seasonal eating and Winter storage for over 40 years. Geri and Donna demonstrate the virtues of mindfulness and Earth-care in how they tend the soil. There is no petroleum\, plastic\, or packaging in this garden. All work is done by hand with a spade and a fork; they use only locally gathered soil amendments such as leaves\, seaweed\, and manure\, and they save their own seeds when practical. Come and be inspired by this unique off-grid homestead and gardens\, and the women who created them. \nOpen to families and well-supervised children of all ages. This program is free\, but pre-registration is required. Registration opens May 1st.
