This initiative aims to promote the planting of milkweed\, a vital host plant for monarch butterflies\, and to raise funds to support the maintenance of the Ed Flanagan Pollinator Garden at Milbridge Commons Wellness Park. \nMilkweed is essential to monarch survival\, whose populations have declined dramatically in recent years. By planting milkweed\, we not only provide a safe habitat for these beautiful butterflies but also support the overall health of our local ecosystems. \nThe Bloom for Butterflies Milkweed Plant Fundraiser Sale features swamp milkweed\, a plant that forms 3-5 foot tall clumps\, and doesn’t spread aggressively like other milkweed species. It’s a perennial that thrives in wet environments but can also grow in regular gardens. \nOur 3-quart pots will contain two Milkweed seedlings ready for planting.  \nSupplies are limited (and we sold out last year)!
