Join us with Hazel Stark, from Maine Outdoor School on this hike and learn how to find and identify winter animal signs along the Machias River while hiking or snowshoeing.
This is a 5.5-mile trail network, but we will likely do less than 3 miles, depending on the group’s interest.
Location: Machias, Maine
Difficulty: This is a moderate hike
Gear: Snowshoes are available as needed by request. Bring warm winter layers, including waterproof, insulated boots. As a base layer, long johns (wool or synthetic) are recommended underneath bulky warm mid-layers and water/windproof outer layers, including mittens/gloves and a hat. Bring a comfortable backpack to carry extra layers and water in. Questions about how to prepare? Just ask! We have extra gear to share.
Space is limited, and registration is required!
