Lost and stuck overnight in the backcountry–what do you do? This hike is all about diving into the world of outdoor survival, learning from the wildlife that do it best, and learning some important tips and tricks if you find yourself in a scary situation. Note that this OWL outing will take place on second Saturday of the month, not the third due to the holiday.
Location: T10 SD (Unorganized Township between Cherryfield and Franklin
Difficulty: 2-mile long moderate hike
Gear: Bring warm winter layers, including waterproof, insulated boots. As a base layer, long johns (wool or synthetic) are recommended underneath bulky warm mid-layers and water/windproof outer layers, including mittens/gloves and a hat. Bring a comfortable backpack to carry extra layers and water in. Questions about how to prepare? Just ask! We have extra gear to share.
