Dumplings, Ravioli and Pierogis: A cross-cultural exploration through dough wrapped delights

October 4 @ 11:00 am - 1:30 pm

Welcome the fall harvest with a cross-cultural celebration of locally grown vegetables! This class will explore three dough-wrapped recipes and discuss their similarities and differences. Participants will practice various dough folding techniques and will have the opportunity to roll out their own flour wrappers.

Dumplings are a traditional food item prepared for the mid-autumn harvest festival, which is celebrated on the first full moon of Autumn (Oct. 6). Preparing a feast to honor and give thanks for the fall harvest is a universal way to celebrate, and many cultures have a day dedicated to an autumnal feast. So join us in celebrating local food and the fall harvest by preparing three different styles of ‘dumplings’ with vegetables sourced from neighboring farms and gardens.
