Growing Vegetables for All Along the Narraguagus
The Incredible Edible Milbridge Market Garden, added in 2015, is located on the grounds of the Red Barn Motel. This 14,000 square foot garden has the potential to yield 4,000 pounds of fruits and vegetables for the community.
Countless hours from volunteers and IEM farmer, Michael Hayden, have helped create this fabulous addition to the IEM lineup in a short period. Funding assistance for this project came from the Steven and Tabitha King Foundation, Maine Community Foundation, the Sewell Foundation, The Home Depot in Ellsworth assisted with the purchase and installation of the garden shed.
