“I get by with a little help from my friends.” Well, in this case, the Women’s Health Resource Library got a lot of help from our friends at Wyman’s of Maine. This past Wednesday, about 100 Wyman’s employees descended on WHRL’s new home at 87 Main Street. The historic building needed lots of TLC. All day long, volunteers from the “Wild Blue Crew” poured in to help with cleaning, patching walls, painting, plumbing, carpentry, landscaping and yard work. The transformation was nothing short of phenomenal. Our gratitude to each and every person who helped our organization get a big step closer to moving in. What an amazing example of teamwork and community building. I am especially grateful to April Norton, who not only planned and meticulously organized the day, but got into the trenches and worked tirelessly all day long. The words “thank you” seem so small compared to the massive effort that went into bringing an old building back to life. But please know how much your efforts mean to the WHRL and the community we serve.
We would also like to thank our neighbors at the Milbridge Historical Society for opening their doors to the volunteers so they could use their bathroom facilities. And thanks to Mark Wright for donating the huge dumpster that we easily filled to the rim. It takes a village…
