Warm, cozy, and endlessly unique — there’s nothing better than a hand-knit sock. Have you ever wanted to learn how to knit them? Join us for “Intro to Knitting Socks” with Corinne Claunch. In this workshop, participants will knit a small “sample” sock using the top-down method. We’ll discuss different types of sock construction and go over different types and qualities of yarn. Participants will leave with their own knitting kit, as well as the ability and know-how to create their own socks.
Participants should know basic knitting techniques such as knit, purl, increases, and decreases. We will work with double-point needles. If you have your own light-colored worsted-weight yarn, please bring it!
About the Instructor: Corinne is a former fiber farmer who raised three types of fiber sheep, alpacas, and llamas. After retiring from corporate life and farming, she moved to Addison to enjoy Downeast living. She also enjoys dyeing yarn using natural dyes.
