Yes, it’s early to be thinking about Christmas! However, plans are underway for the Women’s Health Resource Library’s Annual Christmas Tree Festival and Auction on Saturday, December 3rd. We are looking for community members who are excited about decorating a tree or wreath for our festival.
We provide the trees and wreaths; you do the decorating! All items are auctioned to benefit the programs of the Women’s Health Resource Library – including Incredible Edible Milbridge and the new Milbridge Commons!
Here’s how it works!
- Signup to decorate a tabletop-size live fir tree or balsam wreath and start brain storming about how you’d like to decorate it!
- Pick up your tree or wreath from the WHRL beginning Friday, November 18 from the WHRL parking lot. Some folks prefer to dig up and pot their own trees or make their own wreaths – that’s also okay!
- Decorate your item. Be creative! Click here to see some of last year’s items. Designs tend to range from the elegant to the beautifully whimsical, but all are uniquely special trees and wreaths. Make your tree special!
- Drop off your item at the Schooner Gallery on Friday, December 2nd between 2 and 5:30 pm and we’ll take it from there.
The Christmas Tree Festival will be on Saturday, December 3rd at the Schooner Gallery in Milbridge. It’ll run from 10am to 7pm. This year we’ll offer many in a Chinese Auction. We’ll offer others in a silent auction. This is a different format than what we’ve done in years past. It will allow more time for even more people to view and enjoy the trees. Santa will stop in at one point to visit with children. The event is part of Milbridge’s larger event, “Christmas on Main Street”.
