One of the best ways to develop your inner gardener is to observe the work of others. This summer, Incredible Edible Milbridge invites you to be inspired by two fabulous area gardens.   This is an rare opportunity not to be missed.

Curtis LaFollete and his wife Marion have been gardening at their home in Cherryfield since 1972. They now have 3,200 square feet of amazing organic gardens where they grow a mix of veggies, herbs, and flowers. A sun room serves as a small greenhouse and allows them to start greens in the winter. Curtis and Marion are both artists, and their creativity is certainly evident  in their green space.  Curtis will share his gardens with us on Saturday, June 25 @ 9am (rain date Sunday, June 26 @ 1pm) and on Saturday, September 3 @ 9 am (rain date, Sunday, September 4 @ 1 pm). 570 Willey District Road, Cherryfield.

Barbara Anderson and husband Andy have mastered the challenges of coastal gardening.  Come and witness their flourishing vegetable and perennial gardens at their home on Back Bay in Milbridge. The Anderson property includes a greenhouse as well as a pond used for irrigation. They freeze and can much of their garden bounty for winter. In their 80’s, Barbara and Andy rise early and spend most mornings working the garden. They are truly inspiring! Come join us on a tour of their gardens on Saturday, July 9 @ 9 am (rain date Sunday, July 10 @ 9 am). 530 Rays Point Rd, Milbridge.

The tours of these wonderful gardens are free, but advance registration is required. For more information and to register, visit https://whrl.org/iem/workshops or leave a message at 546-7677.  Incredible Edible Milbridge is a project of the Women’s Health Resource Library.
