The home and gardens of Charlene Sprague and Fritz Gensheimer provided the backdrop for a garden party fundraiser for Incredible Edible Milbridge. Their spectacularly manicured gardens include a dramatic layering of perennial flowers, plants, herbs and vegetables.

Much of the menu included produce from the owner’s gardens as well as the Incredible Edible Market Garden in Milbridge.  The menu included three courses offering an amazing variety of seasonal gourmet delights, locally sourced wine and craft beers. Guests chose from offerings such as lobster deviled eggs, Thai chickens skewers, mushroom turnovers, black rice with edamame, roasted beets with oranges and goat cheese to name just a very few of the extensive menu choices.  Desserts were Downeast Tiramisu, and fresh berry tarts.

Incredible Edible Milbridge is expanding with Milbridge Commons, a joint venture between the Women’s Health Resource Library and Maine Coast Heritage Trust.  It will be a public space offering walking trails, organic pick-your-own vegetable gardens and orchards, and a children’s play area. The coastal property is off Main Street in Milbridge across from the Milbridge Historical Society.
